FIJI
On 20 and 21 February, Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Winston struck the islands of Fiji causing severe devastation. As of 22 February, 21 people were confirmed dead and 8,100 people remain in evacuation centres across the country. Initial aerial assessments indicate extensive damage in the east and north, particularly Koro Island and the Lomaiviti Group of islands. The Government has officially requested international assistance and declared a 30-day State of Natural Disaster. Government-led clusters were activated to coordinate the response. UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination teams have been deployed to support authorities.

MYANMAR
As of 21 February, some 4,000 people remain displaced from fighting between the Restoration Council for Shan State (RCSS)/Shan State Army (SSA) and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) that broke out in Kyaukme town, northern Shan State on 7 February. Food, water, NFIs and mobile health services have been provided by the Government, the private sector, civil society and aid agencies.
On 9 February, conflict also erupted between the RCSS/SSA and TNLA in Nahmkan. As of 19 February, over 1,200 people were newly displaced to Mong Wee village. Access to the conflict-affected area remains difficult.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Drought continues to affect various parts of Western and Gulf provinces and the highland areas of PNG. As of 22 February, an estimated 700,000 people are in critical need of food assistance or agricultural inputs across the most severely affected areas. The Government is responding to the needs of the affected people. With many of the communities living in remote areas, logistics remain a key challenge in delivering assistance.
MONGOLIA
Since 20 January, 211 out of a total of 339 districts in Mongolia are affected by dzud (combination of summer drought followed by an extremely cold and snowy winter) or near- dzud conditions. An estimated 225,800 people (62,719 herder households or 41 per cent of the total herder population) are in a high-risk zone. This includes 28,290 children under five and 3,340 expectant mothers. As of 15 February, 115,733 animals perished as a result of the heavy snow fall, severe storms and cold weather conditions.

PHILIPPINES
An estimated 20,860 people (4,170 families) have been displaced and are hosted in six evacuation centres in Maguindanao province as a result of armed clashes between the military and lawless elements. WASH, food, health, education and protection are key concerns. Local authorities are responding to the immediate needs of the affected people. On 18 February, another conflict incident, possibly related to a clan feud, in the municipality of Midsayap in Cotabato province displaced an estimated 300 families (1,500 people). Three civilian casualties were reported (two dead, one injured).

INDONESIA
From 17 to 21 February, flooding in Jambi, West Java, Central Java, and West Kalimantan provinces affected at least 15,000 people. Bengkayang District of West Kalimantan was the most affected with 3,600 people. Local governments and partners provided emergency assistance and have taken measures to manage the flood water.
